Happy Anniversary ERC!
It was six years ago today that we officially broke ground in the east parking lot of the Ashby BART Station. And we have the photo to prove it — Throw Back Thursday! The image below shows Kaia Burkett, who was at BORP at the time, CforAT’s Dmitri Belser, TLG’s Megan Kirshbaum, DREDF’s Susan Henderson, Kathi Martinez who was with WID, Ed Roberts’ mom, Zona Roberts, CTP’s Joan Breves, and of course, Jan Garrett who was with CIL. All of them holding shovels in front of an image of the future ERC.

Transportation Awards 2012: Excellence in Motion
The ERC would shine in any architectural contest, and particularly one focusing on universal design — an approach to making facilities as usable as possible by as many people as possible, regardless of ability.
